Giving Tuesday: Ushering a New Era at Valley Eye Radio

We’re Inviting You to Help Us Take a Bold Next Step

Donate Today!

For decades Valley Eye Radio has been a trusted presence for blind, low vision, and print impaired listeners across Western Massachusetts—bringing newspapers, public notices, community updates, and essential local information directly into people’s homes. We are proud of this legacy. It has changed lives, built connections, and ensured information access for thousands. But the world of audio is changing—and so are the needs and voices of our listeners.

A New Chapter:Original Content for and by the Blind Community

Beginning in 2026, Valley Eye Radio is embarking on a transformative shift. We will continue the core radio-reading service our listeners rely on, but we’re expanding into original programming created with—and led by—low vision and blind storytellers, hosts, journalists, creators, and community members.

We’re building a platform where low vision, print impaired and blind voices are telling their own stories, shaping their own narratives, creating content that reflects their lived experiences, and leading conversations that matter to our community.

Why We Need Your Support

This transition requires:

  • New recording and production software
  • Stipends for creators and contributors
  • Expansion of studio and editing capabilities
  • Training programs for aspiring broadcasters
  • Continued support for our longstanding radio-reading service and volunteers

While we are shifting directions, there is still very much a place for our sighted readers and contributors.

Your donation—no matter the size—directly fuels opportunities for blind and low vision creators and ensures that every listener can access meaningful, community-centered content. With your support, Valley Eye Radio will become a place where blind and low vision voices aren’t just included—they lead. Donate here!

Thank you for believing in this work, for supporting our listeners, and for helping us build the next era of Valley Eye Radio.

With gratitude,

Chloe Collins, Executive Director
