End of Year Fundraiser Begins
Dear all of our incredible supporters,
It's June and that means it's time for our End of Fiscal Year Campaign!!
What a year it has been for all of us. I hope as we come out of our rabbit holes that we all have a renewed sense of what is most meaningful and certainly what is essential to our lives and our well being. Essential is what Valley Eye Radio has been to our listeners more than ever during this pandemic.
We have worked extra hard for our listeners including expanding our COVID coverage--all the latest developments, what resources were available, how to get tested and vaccinated, special COVID late day broadcasts, and on and on.
Your support is needed more than ever to keep us on the air.

Hope for Bright, Bright, Sunshiny Days
I was watching one of my favorite programs—CBS Sunday Morning—last weekend and they did their annual review of people we had lost in 2020. Does anyone remember the late singer and Houston native Johnny Nash who died at 80 this year?
The commentator drew a comparison between this “dark year” and Nash’s #1 uplifting single “I Can See Clearly Now the Rain Is Gone.” He went on to share that the song reminded him that courage and kindness usually triumph in the end, even during tough times like we have had this past year.
Can You Feel It?
The new year that we have all been waiting for approaches—2021!! Four more days after a year that seemed interminable.
As challenging as 2020 has been, is it just me, or is there more kindness and concern for others in the air even beyond the traditional holiday spirit?
Our End of Year Campaign ends Thursday night at midnight. As you start to say goodbye to this not normal year, we hope you will consider a donation to make our listeners’ lives more cared for and connected.
I know, after this 2020 experience unlike any other, that it isn’t just me feeling this renewed sense of kindness and caring through the act of giving.
More kindness and concern for others in the air?? A 2020 silver lining?? I definitely think so.
Year End Giving

GENEROSITY THANKFULNESS ALTRUISM
It has been quite a year full of a range of emotions and finding ways to survive a pandemic. We have all weathered these times in different ways, but not without introspection and heightened awareness of how these words may have transformed us post-COVID.
Just words? Ideals?
Not anymore for most of us. How much more INTEGRAL and POWERFUL

In Their Words: Valley Eye Radio
It’s 8 a.m. on Monday morning in the Valley Eye Radio studios at WGBY in Springfield. The Springfield Republican, and other local newspapers that we read live every morning have not yet arrived. There’s breaking news on MassLive that must be printed. One of our volunteer readers has just called to say she is ill and can’t read live at 9 a.m. To make matters worse, there is a storm brewing that could affect our operations for the rest of the day.
